Thank you John and everyone else who attended, wonderful afternoon in perfect weather with great company.
Was disappointed with your frock though, thought you could have made a little more effort
How about 2nd July for the next one, same place.
Be well
Ian
Huh.....some guys are just never satisfied and after I passed on a special greeting from Bob too.......😳. 2 July is in the diary
Hi Sann, if you can find Ian's post last week about Nosh and Natter, you will see the details. We meet at a restaurant which is 10 min walk (ish) from Waterloo Station and the good news is another one is planned for 2 July. If you are in striking distance of Epsom Hospital, you may want to look at the Surrey Arrhythmia Support Group which meets the 1st Wednesday of each month except August. Hope this information is helpful.
Best wishes, John
Should have said, Ian is Beancounter!!
HI
I hope to get to the one on 2nd July - can you remind me of the time for meeting so I can check out coach/trains.
Thanks
PS anybody know the best 'advance ticket' purchase sites to get it cheaper than £80!
Depends wher from and route(s).
Sometimes worthwhile splitting journey (you don't necessarily need to get off though reserved seat may be different (if not crowded I use unreserved seats anyway). By split I mean say Euston to Stafford and then Stafford to Preston.
Thanks, I'll try that or coach - don't really fancy that in July though!
If I am travelling by train I usually use west coast mainline and often Virgin have cheaper tickets than say on the trainline website. With Virgin there is a slightly hidden option of selecting cheapest tickets.
I'm travelling from Southampton, so not sure if there are options to break the journey up
I'll have a go x
Using the national rail site I am picking up retipurn as £37.90. Another tip is that if you have a local station it is sometimes cheaper to get the ticket to start from ther even if you intend to drive to the central station.
Hi Marti, why not look at National Coaches running into Victoria Coach Station? From there it would be a short tube or bus journey to either Waterloo (10min walk) or Southwark tube (2 min walk) to the restaurant. We normally eat from the buffet as and when the mood takes us. It's a great opportunity to share our experiences and Beancounter is an excellent host and everything is very informal.
Best wishes, John
Thanks, I may well do this as can get that from my home town of Ringwood, rather than driving to Southampton.
However, it's about 2.5 to 3 hours each way in July - so a long hot day! I'll see what else is going on that day with husband, 3 Foster kids and elderly mother!
Hope you manage to make it.....as Ian would say....stay well
Thanks - yes that is what I get.
National Express, not Coaches!!......looks like £12 return.....John
