Thanks to PeterWh, BobD,SRMGran and Orchard worker for your replies re: when & why to ablate.

As it stands my meds are doing the job at keeping the AF episodes at bay - my last one being over a year ago, however, when these AF episodes increase in frequency ,duration and affect my QOL, I'll

definitely review my options. Thanks again guys.

Did reply yesterday and then lost message. I was told nothing about options when I was diagnosed and it was before I found this great website. I read Tony Blair had an ablation, read up on it and then went back to GP and pushed for one.

Yes, I saw about Tony Blair having an ablation too. I presume it was successful.

Leave it until it gets worse, which it will, and each year becomes that bit harder to ablate successfully? Up to you of course.

I wasted five years waiting! Lord knows why......
