After my first ablation I had no pain this time the pain is like having heart burn. It varies during the day is this normal.
Hi I had my second ablation on Tuesda... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Hi I had my second ablation on Tuesday and still have some chest pain is this to be expected
Yes I would say it is. I had some pain like a stake through the chest and between my shoulder blades for a few days after my second.and ached for quite a while. A lot has gone on in there and just because you don't have a zip up the front doesn't mean that your heart hasn't had a good bashing.. Relax, be patient and don't over do things.Talk to the arrhythmia nurse at the hospital if you are worried . That is if you have one of course as not all EPs have one available. Do expect some odd rhythms and bumps along the way as it takes a good while to settle down.

I had my second ablation 9 weeks ago. This time they did the right atria and yes I had the soreness in my heart that you are asking about. I still get it slightly now if I do too much and it's quite a worrying sensation.
On about the 5th day after the procedure I also had some strong pain in my chest, I thought I was having a heart attack, but fortunately it only lasted 15-30 mins. Talking to others who have also had this procedure they have had the same pain and one even called an ambulance. Not that I'm saying you should ignore any pain you have, but just to make you aware.

Thanks Bob and Jean it is reassuring to here that others have had the same pain. I will go to the doctors if it gets any worse. I suppose after the experience of my first ablation I naively thought it would be plain sailing.
Hi LakesLad
I had my ablation ten days ago , and yes I'm having pain from time to time in the front of my chess but doesn't last for long time and when I take a deep breath
I'm still having those irregular heart beats also but as I understand it is expected
Also I feel very weak and could not go to work yet even my doctor in courage me to do so .
Regards
Hi LakesLad - Just wondering how you are feeling now?
Hi Jean
I feel so much better now. No chest pains or heart burn. I feel like I can start in gym soon and get back to some sort of fitness. How are you doing with your post op recovery.
Glad to hear that you're feeling better. I'm feeling really well too - the best I've felt for ages. I still get a bit of heartburn, but am taking some tablets and it's a lot better.
