I have Atrial Flutter, which is making me very tired and breathless and have been advised to have an Ablation. I am a bit nervous and would love some reassurance!

Knowledge is power so go to AF Association main website and read all about ablation including our fact sheets on preparing for and recovering from ablation. Flutter emanates from the right atrium so is far easier and faster to ablate than fibrillation as that is where the catheter arrives and no transeptal puncture is needed.

I've had two and on the whole I was better from it. Hitting a rough patch just now due to change of medication but hopefully that will be sorted soon. Definitely recommend you have the procedure.

Thank you. That's very helpful. I have just received the date of my Ablation, so should be well prepared. And hopefully feel so much better for it. Can't wait, but nervous!

What date? It's normal to feel nervous, though I was quite blase about my first one and not concerned in the slightest. I wasn't so sure of myself for the second and third, though to be honest there really isn't a lot to be nervous about.

Thank you so much. I feel reassured. My Ablation is on 14th Feb.
