Good Morning All , Just wondering if anyone here had or thought about getting a whole body MRI from head to toe . I see they can be expensive , about 2,500.00 . Yes I know we have prostate cancer scans but this is different . Thank You All , SemperFi , JJ

Whole Body MRI ?

How would you react if you were diagnosed with something asymptomatic untreatable and ultimately fatal such as a deep seated brain aneurysm or other if I were you I'd leave when alone
I got a full body MRI from Prenuvo. Detected prostate cancer that otherwise had no symptoms and other health tips . I think it is worth it.,
I just had a routine appointment with my MO a few days ago. I have been on Abi/Predi for 2 years now and my PSA has now sabilised at 0.09. She wants me to have a full body MRI as a marker for when my PSA starts to rise again ( hopefully a long way down the line ).
I receive a full body scan every year to make sure my cancer controlled with Xtandi has or moved or changed. I am 14 years in with cancer in lymph nodes next to where my prostate used to be.
I had one shortly after initial Dx almost 13 yrs ago.
Why, and why not since then?
I do not recall the reason why I had the whole body MRI 13 years ago. And, I assume I haven’t had one since then because my known tumors have not increased in number, nor have they increased significantly in size since then. In addition, in the few occasions when my PSA has increased over the last 13 yrs, a PSMA Pet scan has identified the “misbehaving” tumor responsible and I have had it radiated.
Good Idea.....(I had one and they saw that I was missing a brain)...

What steps did you take? See the Wizard? The road on the way to his place is quite interesting.

I have regular full body MRI scan starting a few years back. The MRI is a good tool to see cysts and nodules in the thyroid, lungs, breast, pancreas, liver and bladder, which one can follow up with their doctors to determine if more diagnosis are necessary. More often than not, you may end up spending time and money on something not too significant medically. But it is always that one time when the scan reveals something which may end up saving your life. It has its pros and cons.
I've asked about them. My RO keeps telling me that from chest up MRIs have limited effectiveness. I hear so many different things about scans--types, what works best or not--not sure what to believe EXCEPT--doctor ain't sure.
