A bit of good news...

Yesterday was my 9 month check in at Duke, following the Embarq study trial. I've been on lupron and Xtandi. My PSA lowered from 6.57 at start to 0.06 yesterday, and Doc said STOP THE MEDS!

So I get some time off, hopefully a long time, and a break from the hot flashes, low energy, loss of taste, stamina etc. I know it will take time, but we all need a vaca at times.

Just thought I would pass this along... keep the faith guys!

Thanks for your note. I am following a similar path after consulting with Dr. Daniel George.

I am currently taking Eligard and Xtandi.

How long after taking Xtandi were you recommended to stop taking you hormone drugs? I think you said nine months. Was this nine months explained to you when you started the doublet therapy?

Thanks

I am Duke consulting patient from WNC.

Yes, 9 months from beginning the lupron and xtandi until coming off. Yes when i started treatment they explained that this was the goal.

Thanks,

I will put on my calendar to see my PSA on that nine month from my Xtandi start date,

and hope it is still Not Detectable.

(Curently my PSA is Not Detectable)
