carpal tunnel both hands

My question to this august group is any others with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and what actions did you take to relieve it?

Tingling and numb thumb, index, and middle finger with both hands since I went back to Lupron. EMG/NCS testing indicates CTS. My PCP recommends a sports doctor skilled at administering corticosteroids. Possibly surgery. GOOGLE AI: “While not a common side effect, some individuals may experience carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms while taking Lupron Depot (leuprolide acetate), a medication used to treat conditions like endometriosis and prostate cancer, …”. I’ve been taking D2, injecting B12, and swallowing R-alpha lipoic acid 200mg with benfotiamine 100mg (3x daily) resulting in no relief.

Current status is Lupron isn’t helping my PSA anymore (5mth DR) but killing my T, no PSMA detectable METS beyond prostate bed. Likely -nmCRPC (Tall Allen thx) or m0CRPC.

Awaiting ctDNA results, prostate MRI w & wo contrast, Clevelend Clinic tumor board review presented by Dr. Moshe Ornstein, and 2025 $2000 Medicare catastrophic drug cap. No focal treatment options peer Dr.s Steven Campbell and Praveen Pendyala. Likely moving to darolutamide per RO.

What is the best hand hospital in the US?

Founded by Dr. Raymond Curtis in 1975, The Curtis National Hand Center has grown to be the largest hand center in the world with 14 surgeons, a prominent fellowship program, a complete research department and association with the largest hand rehabilitation center in the nation.

MedStar Health: Curtis National Hand Center

Orthopedic clinic in Baltimore, Maryland

Located in: MedStar Union Memorial Hospital

Address: Johnson Professional Building, 3333 N Calvert St # 200, Baltimore, MD 21218

Phone: (410) 235-5405

Note: Many years ago my brother (a court reporter by profession) had his CTS treated (operation) here in NYC and he regretted ever having it done........... So beware.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

I worked for years in neurophysiology in the EMG/NCS lab. CTS was the most common condition. If rest and steroid injections do not resolve it, then surgery is a good alterative. It is not difficult and in the hands of a good surgeon very successful. Do one hand at a time and let it heal. Two hands at one surgical setting leads to problems caring for oneself until they heal.
