My husband completed his 3rd of 6 docetaxel treatments and was on Nubeqa ( Darolutamide 300 mg 2x daily) but unfortunately his liver enzymes levels have become quite high. His doctor has taken him off the Darolutamide and stopped his chemo for 2 weeks. Ultrasounds and scans are all normal. We are concerned that the delay in the triplet therapy will be detrimental to his progress. He has responded well to the treatment aside from the high liver enzyme results. The oncologist isn’t sure if it’s the Nubeqa or docetaxel that is causing this elevation. Has anyone else had this side effect and what was prescribed? Btw he has not touched any alcohol or even taken a Tylenol.

Is he on a Statin. I am on Daro and was prescribed Rosuvastatin 20mg for a TIA. The darolutamide increases the potency of the statin and caused my liver enzymes to triple. Had my Doctor reduce it to 5mg and enzymes returned to normal. Three doctors missed this.
Wishing you a life full of days and days full of life!
Thank you so much for this advise, bigiron. I asked our friends, who are pharmacists, about the combination of Darolutamide and statins and they agreed that the potency does increase and causes liver enzymes to elevate. We then discussed it with our oncologist and family doctor and the statin has been removed for a few weeks. Now we wait for blood work and hopefully get back on schedule forchemo treatment. Can’t thank you enough! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and I hope your triplet therapy works for a very very long time. Liver enzymes should return to normal in a short amount of time.
Hello, I am also 62. I'm taking Degarelix (monthly injection) and Darolutamide 300 mg 4x daily. Liver enzymes have remained low since the start of the triplet therapy, even during Docetaxel rounds. I was on a statine but switched to bempedoic acid (Nilemdo 180 mg daily). The switch was not related to PCa but it was decided by my cardiologist because of side-effects of the statin (e.g. muscle cramps). I hope this helps. The best of luck to your husband.
My husband too had elevated liver enzymes with Docetaxel and Nubeqa. The difference is that this happened after the first infusion itself. Our MO had us stop Nubeqa till the liver numbers became normal. Then we restarted Nubeqa and completed five Docetaxel treatments at an 80% dose.
