Please feel free to provide any thoughts, concerns, etc.

1.) prostrate cancer has NOT spread beyond prostrate.

2.) prostrate treatment on hold as we address lung cancer3a.

3.) on 9/24 will stop casodex and get lupron injection to hold back prostrate cancer for 3 months while we treat lung cancer.

4.) been on Casodex for a month now. Psa down to 4.1 2 weeks ago from 6.1 a month and half ago months ago

5.) start chemo this week for lung cancer 9/26.

6.) for lung do chemo for a month.

7.) off chemo for a month in preparation for curative bi-lobectomy 12/24.

8.) follow up treatment for lung.

9.) 3 month follow up for prostrate cancer.

10.) depending on lung treatment, status, start curative therapy for the prostrate.

Been on one heck of a roller coaster ride.

gone from prostrate cancer stage 4 , to lung cancer w unknown source, to 2 separate cancers which at this time can be cured.

The lung cancer source is in right hilar under neath the cancerous lymph node. The tumor source is also attached to the sub-carina lymph node in middle of chest.

So far, No spread is seen in ct scans, ,brain mri, or blood work.

bio markers appear negative. Awaiting one more final test this week which will determine the chemo we start this week for the lung treatment.

I am hopeful, positive I, WE, can beat this!!

Had detailed discussions w prostrate drs seem very confident we can keep the prostrate cancer in check while we battle the lung cancer.

Feedback, thoughts, support and prayers always welcome and appreciated.

thank you!

"2 separate cancers which at this time can be cured." It's a lot to go through, but great news that they are both curable.

I'm no Dr but it looks like you're on the right road.

Throw everything you can at the lung issue and put your PC in a holding pattern with ADT.

I was diagnosed with Gleeson 8 in Aug 2023 (it could have been there for a year already) and I waited till Feb 2024 before I started any treatment (ADT). I had another scan prior to starting ADT and between August and Feb there had been no progression of the PC and it was still contained. Even my G8 was not aggressively growing over that 7 month period of zero treatment.

Obviously everyone is different but from my very limited knowledge, PC is a slow growing cancer compared to others and so prioritising your treatment plan to address the lung cancer first while putting to sleep your PC using ADT seems to me to be a very wise decision.

I wish you all the best, keep positive and don't let anxiety take over.

Totally agree with Mike 58. I am stage 4 and have been alive and active for 90 months now. Bone mets on hold for now... for forever.... I tell myself, I'll die of old age first... 71 years old.

HI Cp, I just want to throw in my 2 cents on Lupron. Husband did a one month and 3 month dose. It was horrible, of all the side effects of surgery, radiation and Lupron, Lupron was the worst. It made him 'different'. The very low testosterone caused him to be weepy (highly unusual), emotional, tired, horrible hot flashes and overall, feeling like crap. We think he still has side effects after 4 years. Please do your research on it as he would never do it again, regardless. Keep up your good fight! Research alternatives as well as what the docs want you to do - get the big 360 picture. You can beat this!
