Numbing sensation in Legs
Hi Pjford,
I take mirtazapine for sleep and anxiety and find it to be helpful.
Forgot to add: I take mirtazapine both in the morning to help with anxiety/depression and before bed to help with sleep, and find it to help for both.
Also, mirtazapine is an antidepressant which often doesn’t affect libido in a negative way which many other antidepressants tend to do.
If you have restless legs syndrome there are other meds to help with that.
I don’t know if you have considered it and it may not be good for anxiety, but if you are in a state where medical cannabis is available, indica gummies help a lot with sleep. You don’t need a lot. My husband is on the same regimen as you (only for a couple of months now). His oncologist says they are fine. He sleeps so much better now. Not a doctor, just a thought.

I am also on the Abiraterone/Prednisone regimen, have CBD gummies, but have not asked my MO about them. I have been afraid to use the CBD based on interaction warnings.
"Drug Interactions between abiraterone and cannabidiol. Cannabidiol may cause liver problems and using it with other medications that can also affect the liver such as abiraterone may increase that risk..." drugs.com/drug-interactions...
"Potential, Limitations and Risks of Cannabis-Derived Products in Cancer Treatment. Many anticancer agents undergo metabolism via CYP450 … Inhibition of CYP450 isoenzymes... induced by cannabis products, may increase the serum concentrations of anticancer agents that are substrates for these enzymes. On the one hand, a dose reduction of the anticancer drug may be required to avoid excessive toxicity. On the other hand, such interaction may theoretically be used to lower the dose of the anticancer drug. Anticancer drugs that are converted into one or more inactive metabolites by CYP450 isoenzymes include the anti-androgen abiraterone..." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
I have been on Lupron/Aberateron + Prednisone for a year and half now. I have same heavy legs. I also use Medical Canabis to help with pain and sleep. I use CBN:THC (10mg) gummy at night. I use tinctures during the day with CBD heavy to stay alert. I also use CBD:THC infused lotion type stuff and rub it into my legs. This also seems to help with the heavy legs. At least the pain side so I can sleep. In general, I have stiff joints too but that may be due to the fosamax that I take once a week to maintain bone density. I take Wellbutrin for depression and hydroxizine for anxiety (as needed).
Started Lupron/ Aberaterone/ Prednisone six weeks ago and had bad cramps in legs/ankles/feet where I feared going to bed. Magnesium, hydration, massage, leg warmers all were ineffective. Have so far had excellent results with an electric blanket on my lower half.
I have had the same symptoms but thought they might be related to my degenerative disk disease and past back surgeries.
For me it is mostly neuropathy and nerve irritation. I often get up at 3 or 4 AM and wanting to jump out of my skin, so I get up and use a foam roller or la cross ball to stimulate blood flow in the muscles, and then get back to bed. It usually helps, I also (not the healthiest option) put on the TV to focus my mind elsewhere until I fall asleep again.
I hope that helps.
my husband keeps pickle juice by his bed for restless legs and cramps. Also takes magnesium glycinate gummies.
Hello - Now at 13 months on Lupron/Abi/Pred and recently started similar struggles at night. May try these suggestions.
Sorry, but my only experience was short term therapy for Herpes Zoster. Good luck.
My legs and feet feel like they belong to a zombie that I killed when I was 6 years ago............
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Hello, I found with
Lupron ihetbthe “sweats”.
I purchased a few hand battery fans and it works great.
I've been on orgovyx/abiraterone/prednisone for 18 months and my doc wants to keep me on it until May 2025. I also have a separate nerve damage issue that has carried on for 2 years. The combination of the 2 left me sleeping 3-5 hours per night until I started taking 30-45mg THC and CBD. I immediately started sleeping 6-8 hours. I have to take them at 8:30pm to sleep around 10pm. I usually wake up around 2-3am and take my Abi then and get back to sleep within an hour. Then wake up refreshed at 6am.
