dad is at peace

hello all. My dad passed away peacefully a few weeks ago. He fought long. started his 7th year of treatment, after being diagnosed metastatic.

I miss him deeply but am glad he is no longer suffering.

You loved him deeply Ellie, it comes through in your words. He loved you back, you deserve credit for your part in his struggle. He is at rest now, so it is time for you to "let it go", and be as happy as you can possibly be from here on out. I am on my 8th year in the same struggle, and I fear for others, not myself. I am sure he felt the same. Cherish the past, and live like this week, month or year is your last.

Ellie, sounds like you had some good time to spend with him before his passing. Count that blessing. And if he is a role model, as it seems from your previous posts, find ways to be at one with his qualities. In other words, your life can be a celebration of his, in perpetuity. You may fuel your own compassion, love, understanding with the recognition of who brought those values to you. He would be so proud.

There is so much joy that breaks free in your heart when you do this in a conscious way. I do so everyday as I celebrate my mom who passed almost 20 yrs ago.
