Ive been off of Abiraterone over 2 months now due to Afib. Was on it 21 months

Only on Lupron starting 3rd year.

Did full pelvic radiation.

I treated myself to a Us PSA test, and Im at <0.02.

MO agreed to let me stay off Abi, and retest in 3 months,

Fingers crossed.

Ive read that triplet therapy, doublet therapy has advantages over any monotherapy. Also, Ive been told in PC groups that early use of Abi is better. I havent found any information on intermitent Abi treatment.

STAMPEDE TRIAL = 24 months ABI, 3 years ADT with EBRT

Im just 3 months shy of 24 months ABI, 1 more year of Lupron

Hope it’s going well . That’s kinda my plan too. Had 28 rounds of radiation, been on ABI/ Lupron 3 months

I've been on the same path, same results. I suggest testing testosterone and Psa once per month to catch any potential changes quicker.

You should take care of the afib with a pacemaker, if needed. Remember, many of us will die with PCa, not of the disease.

No, thats last resort for people with permanent Afib. I had only 1. Ablation is the next treatment for people that get more than one.

I don't believe there is an in-between position: you either have afib or you don't. I have also had an ablation after the PM implant. In my case, the episodes of afib were very occasional until they weren't and I wound up in an hospital emergency room. I guess there are a number of variables including age and general heart health. You might want to also consider a blood thinner such as Eliquis: you certainly don't want to get a blood clot.

I don't know any details about your case, like how old you are, but Lupron made me excessively tired and feverish. How is your blood pressure? Especially if you have heart issues, I would take the warnings about Lupron enhancing your risk of heart attack or stroke seriously. You might want to see a cardiologist. I think the truth about all these hormone drugs is that they effect different people in very different ways, and doctors know very little about why and can't predict what will happen. You must weigh the benefits vs the risk, and roll the dice. The one general piece of advice I do agree with is -- if you can -- exercise!! As fatigued as it makes you feel and as bad as the sudden hot flashes may be try not to just lay down all the time. Looking back on my experience, I THINK ( but I don't know) that if I started on my exercise routine earlier I might have forestalled my seizures.

PS: The good news is you really do feel better after you exercise.

Thanks for caring. I dont mean to be rude, but your comments here assume Im not on meds, and dont see a cardiologist.

Yes, I have had one single 42 hour episode of Afib, there are various degrees of Afib, mine is Paroxysmal AFib, Ive had one occurrence, self resolving with meds, I am on Pradaxa, Coreg, and Digoxin, if you must know and , I do see a cardiologist. I recently wore a Zio heart monitor for 2 weeks with no heart issues to report, Im on a second 2 week Zio patch monitor to verify the last null findings.

My next appointment will determine if I really need the meds.

YES, I exercise 2 hours daily. Anerobic weight workout to 145BPM. No heart issues, per last ECG ultrasound, and heart/lung CT

I dont want to sound like a anti Vaxx, but it occurred days after my last Covid booster.

hmmm. If I'm not wrong you set me a private message asking me to comment on your case with what I know. I answered wih what I know based on what I knew... and it stated with the sentence "I don't know any details about your case." Do mean to sound rude, but anybody will only answer you based on what you've told them.

Someone did, and there it is below. Looking at it again it may have been someone who manages this site. In any case it's the only reason I answered you.

darrylw,

Looks like you have experience with Lupron, can you help Still_in_shock?
