The last PSA test which I did which led to my diagnosis was 21. Bone Mets and Gleason 9. Had a biopsy done 3 weeks ago. Started Oral Orgovyx tablets 2 weeks ago.
My question is for how long would a Transrectal prostate biopsy affect PSA readings ? Are there any estimates for that ? Have read some accounts of biopsies affecting psa readings for months ?! How does one then determine if therapy is working well , in the initial months following biopsy as far as PSA readings are concerned ?
Also wanted to ask if biking would affect PSA readings.

In a healthy man with a prostate, biking (and ejaculation) raises the PSA by physically squeezing prostate - like a sponge. The effect is small and temporary, but can be significant in the screening process causing a false positive. A biopsy (or infection) can cause inflammation that will also increase PSA and can be a larger and longer lasting effect - maybe a few weeks until the area is healed.
However, assuming that your cancer is still Hormone Sensitive, the Orgovyx should drop your Testosterone levels to near zero within a few weeks, and that in turn will turn off your prostate cells ability to produce PSA. Thus, there should be no PSA to be squeezed into your blood from either physical means or inflammation.
Not sure about the blood in semen part but had a few drops of blood in urine for around a week since the biopsy which have stopped since the last two weeks.or so.
