We are just over 1 month from initial shot, and my husbands psa is at 10.24
Prior to his biopsy it was 19.98 (6 weeks ago) and we never tested it post biopsy (I assume it went up from biopsy trauma). So prior to shots we had no baseline.
Love to all of you.

The Firmagone does not directly lower PSA...It's the greatly reduced Testosterone that lowers the PSA. So when they do his next blood work, ask that they check his "T" level to be sure it has responded as expected. I would hope for below 10 for best results..Some say below 20..
Firmagon decreases testosterone to castration levels in the first 24-48 hours. The rate of PSA fall after starting ADT depends on each cancer. The time to PSA nadir may be associate with the time it takes the cancer to become castration resistant.
Thank you— I’m hoping that this indicates something positive for him (as opposed to firmagon doesn’t work well for him)
I’m trying to be one day at a time but I read about the poor guys who nothing works for and my mind instantly goes to that when I see the results today.
The Firmagon worked for me within hours from the injection. Prior to that, I could not sleep because of pain in the pelvic area, I had to stop driving because of the pain. I could not sit without discomfort/pain at home, in church. Two months later I was put on Zytiga and Prednisone and the Firmagon was replaced with Lupron, now Eligard every three months. The PSA continued to decrease. The Firmagon took the pain away in May of 2018 and it stayed away! My Sonny is 25% Dachshund and our love is above 100%! Good luck!
I was on Firmagon for 12 months stopping in April and last blood test PSA is still undetectable in June 0.06 it has been very effective in shutting down testosterone production. I would expect PSA levels to drop quickly. I am a gleason 9 as well.
