Any enzalutamide for chemo?

Tall Allen recently posted about a trial in which taking enzalutamide during docetaxel chemotherapy might help get the PSA down.

Abiraterone failed for me recently and I’m re-challenging with docetaxel. I’m based in the UK, and NHS protocol doesn’t allow this. Should I go off -piste and take enzalutimde, and if so, can anyone recommend where to get some generic , or have some spare?

Can you send me the link to TA’s post. Am also considering Enzalutamide but will come up against the same protocol.

Sorry; annoyingly, didn’t save the post. Also wondering if it’s worth having a stab at generic enzalutimide anyway- NHS doesn’t allow, but might buy a little more time?

Indianmart.com seems to have some; how reliable is questionable. Anyone any experience?

Thanks for the link. Seems to advise sequential rather than combination.

My experience with ADT drugs was quite remarkable. I progressed from older to newer drugs an accident of timing. I started with casodex, 5 years, no side effects. After casodex failed I moved on to abiraterone, 3 1/2 years, few side effects. Casodex and abiraterone work on the same mechanism abiraterone is stronger than casodex. When abiraterone failed I moved on to enzalutamide, 4 years, few side effects. Enzalutamide works on a different mechanism than casodex and abiraterone.

If abiraterone is failing, I would move on enzalutamide. Everyone responds differently to medications, but it's worth a try.

Magnus, when you were on Abi and then Xtandi, were you on an ADT and which one. No mention in profile.

All drugs that I was on was solo. With abiraterone my doc put me on a steroid. Also, with enzalutamide I was on a drug trial which included mystery drug.

Good to hear from you, Magnus. I was wondering about the other day. Hope things are going well.

Thanks to WS we have the link. The Preside trial looks the best way to justify Enzalutamide given Abi is failing. And Docetaxel could extend the effectiveness of Enza. For sure we need to change medication.
