The BIG disappointment was that I was supposed to road trip with a PCa Widow to her friends in AZ on Sat, even made CDs for it!! Then fly back tonight, but damn Chicken Pox reactivated - it never did thru 39 chemos of the 28 IMRTs, which btw I started over a year ago.
So, that's what I've been up to😅 Oh, still having issues with Aunt's accounts/condo and did get a Living Urn and a Gardenia for her to place in her garden
Shingles is quite painful. I really feel for you. Had shingles in my early 40's and caught it early but man, was it still painful. I got my Shingrix vaccine to hopefully prevent it from coming back. (I was beginning to worry about you since you haven't posted for a while)
dunno if you’ve tried this ….. and you , being a dentist, can upgrade this considerably : you can try lidocaine powder …( Benzocaine ) high purity acs reagent ( $15-$20 on Amazon ) , not that whimpy 5% otc ointment . Mix powder with a soothing base such as Vaseline or other ointment base. Apply generously . Put a salonpas type patch cover on it. You are probably already deep into this but if not , here it is. Hope it clears up soon buddy.
Oh that's a wonderful combo, but the Calamine is doing the trick right now. I'll keep it in mine for any future skin issues or maybe even have it ready for my 28 miler on my bday. Hmmm
Mahalo my Bruddah CB, and LoL years ago I cut my palm with a lab knife, so I numbed it and put a couple of stitches in, my assistant was a lil perturbed as I had her suction the blood😆
de ja vu. Hubby got shingles after chemotherapy. And I went and got my vaccine. Just a few days ago we were here on the board talking about shingles… you do know that there is medicine 💊 that can reduce the length of your shingles have your doctor prescribed it
Oh yikes about Hubs Shingles attack, hope that if wasn't too bad!!
When it hit, my 1st thought was that I shoulda got hit during any of the three chemo sessions, when immune system was maybe compromised
LoL, like learning a new word, it appears to appear more😜
Yea, I read about antivirals and that they can reduce severity and length, but thought like most stubborn men "Yea, it ain't that bad, don't need no doctor. I'll just get Calamine"😃
LoL, Imma need an ocean of Calamine Lotion. Yea too bad
Mahalo Sis - was a lil leery at first, expecting massive pain and incessant itching, glad that it didn't🙏. Early on I couldn't lay on that L side, my fav, when tryna sleep.
Mahalo Papa, so far on the path to normalcy, did make sure my pts had chicken pox, cuz they could get it, but dunno how the virus could go thru three layers and onto them
Oh no, that's not good Randy. There is a homeopathic remedy, if you're into homeopathics, that is supposed to be helpful for shingles. I keep it on hand just in case we should get them. This is it: pureformulas.com/product/sh...
Reading the reviews, it has helped some people and not others. It can be shipped "next business day" for $26. If so, you may want to do that.
Oh no. Glad you are drying up. There was a clinical trial showing that if you eat Handel's ice cream then shingle blisters dry up faster. Hope you are part of that trial. Be well Doc.
Another wish for a Happy Easter Week. Man, that rash looks damn uncomfortable. I liked your photo of corned beef, cabbage and a Guinness! I assume that was for St Paddy's Day?
