My PSA keep rising. Today, PSA went up to 1.1 (Today-03/13/24) from 0.37 (January). Doctor told me to take another Eljgard injection next week. This is the 2nd time. Doctor asked me to stop taking bicalutamide and dutasteride, as they appear not to be effective any longer. He said I solely rely on Eligard for the time being and then if it does not work, he asked me to take Xtandi later. Do you have any feedback??? I am a little bit uncomfotable about discontinuing bicalutamide and dutasteride.....

Did your Doc give reason to discontnue those 2? and why are you nervous about stopping? Is there one or more trial showing a benefit in your situation?

Where are you? In the US, bicalutamide has been disfavored in favor of more powerful hormonal agents, like abiraterone and enzalutamide. The androgen receptor adapts to feeding on it, so instead of making your cancer better, it makes it worse. On top of that, your "2 weeks on, 2 weeks off" protocol is a recipe for disaster. It promotes resistance.

Dutasteride is also a very weak drug that has been proven to have no value.
