Dutasteride (Advodart) as an Alternative to ADT in Salvage RT Setting?

This does not seem to be the case with Dutasteride as this study indicates it actually makes PSA reliability for detection of cancer MORE accurate!

Has anyone experienced gynecomastia and breast pain rates in men with prostate cancer treated with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT)?

I am taking dutasteride and bicalutamide. Are they called gynecomastia? Is there anybody who knows what do do? I see my doctor in the middle of December, but is this an emergency ? Do I have to the doctor now? My breasts also aseem to be getting bigger a little by little.

Pausing BAT ?

I am on continuous Eligard, with dutasteride during the last three of the six periods. Each testosterone shot was 400 mg, given at intervals of two months or more. I also take a lot of the usual supplements. Prior to beginning BAT my PSA had been undetectable (<0.02) for some time.

8 Month Follow up Report from Lu-J591

In 2014 my PSA was over 5.0 and went on bicalutamide + dutasteride as alternative ADT. Positive PLNs on PSMA in 2019 led to hemipelvic SRT and 6 months ADT. However, PSA rising in 2021 to 0.20 and repeat PSMA PET showed recurrence in two new LN sites, one para-aortic, so now metastatic.

Intracrinology-Revisited and Prostate Cancer

Thus, a cautious approach would be the use of a dual SRD5A1 and SRD5A2 inhibitor, e.g. dutasteride. However even with inhibition of this enzyme, T would continue to build up and may be sufficient to cause tumor growth (99).

Dutasteride and Apalutamide

Hi to all I remain PSA undetectable since mid 2020 with Lupron injections every 4 months and daily Apalutamide and like everyone on this site, I would like to continue to be castrate sensitive or cancer free. I continue to be impressed by the information available from all of you on this site and I regret

DHEA and Pregnenolone

Only taking Tamsulosin and Dutasteride now for 18 months. No ADT. Are these supplements a bad idea?

2nd month PSA reduced to 0.13 due to continuous BICA LUTAMIDE.

I do dutasteride everyday and bicalutamide everyday. However, I skip bica for every 2 weeks after I had it for 2 weeks. This iintermitent Bica treatment started 2 months ago (April 2022). PSA went down to 0.13 on June 1, 2022. It was 0.22 on May 1 and 0.88 on April 1, 2022.

Avodart / Dutasteroid

The inverted funnel plot did not find any publication bias. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5769310/pdf/mco-08-01-0133.pdf Dutasteride is known to be effective in preventing prostate cancer and treating low-risk prostate cancer.

High intratumoral dihydrotestosterone is associated with antiandrogen resistance in VCaP prostate cancer xenografts in castrated mice

So, some men cover that possibility by taking the 5alpha-reductase inhibitor Dutasteride [Avodart].

Looking for a trainer/coach that understands low-T/ADT training

I'm 4 years in on the standard triple blockade (Abiraterone / Orgovyx / Dutasteride) and things are going very well. PSA is stable at < 0.01. And I just rode a century ride this past weekend. (woot!)

Anyone taking a 5ARI (dutasteride/finasteride) with Abiraterone?

The enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of D4 abiraterone to 3-keto-5-alpha abiraterone is 5 alpha reductase, the very enzyme that could be catabolized by the addition of a 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor such as finasteride or dutasteride.

DUTASTERIDE-TAMSULOSIN How long did the Side Effects last?

I have only just started on this treatment and I must say the side effects are awful. The most annoying and debilitating is a constant runny nose that is dripping like a tap and will not stop. I am going through 6-8 boxes of tissues per day and my nose is red raw. Has anybody else had this and if so

HOW TO MANAGE DILATED CARDIOMYOPATHY?

Carvedilol 3.125 mg twice daily, atoravastatin 10 mg once daily, clopidegril 75 mg once daily, tamsulosin plus dutasteride once daily (for bph) Febuoxostat 40 mg are my medications. BP is always around 110/75 & not diabetic. Where I am failing? Or is it progression of DCM?

TRUP vs. alternatives

Common combinations that doctors prescribe are finasteride and doxazosin or dutasteride and tamsulosin (Jalyn). The dutasteride and tamsulosin combination comes as two drugs combined into a single tablet.
