QoL - back in France

Maybe we’re nuts, but we’re back in France again (Lille) after just being in Paris in December. It’s lovely here.

We’re pretty frugal travelers, so it’s not breaking the bank.

Life is short. Don’t put off doing what you want to do.

Cheers! Well done Jpburns, I couldn’t agree more (me and my wife went to Thailand in november and renewed our vows).

you bet

was there - and Calais and St Amand where my Grandfather was born - Northern France is lovely- good for you.

Heading for Machu Picchu in a couple of weeks - bucket list!

Love being busy alive and engaged- all this ... and, BTW, I have prostate cancer - it's just something else I have going on and it doesn't seem to get in my way too much

QoL 👍

Cheers! We enjoy going to the Braderie de Lille in early Sept. Largest antique fair in Europe, they shut all the streets down. Keep on traveling! We spent a week in Italy in Dec. and 3 months in Europe since my Dx.

Good for you getting another France fix, Lille is a nice town with great beer, if you decide to go to the Palais des Beaux-Arts make sure to see the quirky plan relief models down stairs

We’re going there tomorrow, so thanks!

We also gonna climb the Belfroi de Lille. Although I’m sure I’ll be gasping by the time I reach the top.

Love your post and pic! France is our favorite country. Enjoy the countryside and great food. We are also traveling while we can. We leave for Sicily and southern Italy at the end of April. I have a magnet on my fridge that says “Don’t Postpone Joy” and we are doing exactly that.

That is great to see you back in France again. Good for you and your wife.

Do I see beer lol. I rarely have one but the thought of another beer to try is always exciting seeing you there with one.

Enjoy!🍻🍻🍻

(someone had to use the clinking beer mugs emoji, I guess it is me ha, ha)

Enjoy your stay, we loved France so much we came here to live, it's so much more relaxed, polite and a more gentle way of life. Lots of history where you are too.

Hope you have a lovely time 😊

Hey QOL, we are very similar in timing and diagnoses. I too had PC in my lymph nodes and did radiation. 25 rounds finished May of 22. Glad to see you are living it up. Are you on ADT currently?.....

Yes... for at least another 9 or 10 months. Getting awful tired of it at this point...

Santé! France is a beautiful country, and the French get a bad rap. They really are fun folks and know how to savor and appreciate life! Paris is great, and there is so much more to see from Normandy to Nice. Enjoy

oh I wish! My wife has always wanted to go. Her mother is from France. Alas, we cannot afford to go. My illness consumed our retirement travel savings. The pic looks great. Have a fantastic time.

I'm sorry to hear that. The ticket is the most expensive part. We do a (cheap) Airbnb, and shop at local markets, and only eat one meal out (usually lunch, which is cheaper. But it's still an expense. We've been frugal all our lives and have some money in the bank, and have been extraordinarily lucky when it came to medical costs.

Enjoy!!!

Interestingly, I found out I had PC while in Tuscany, 3 months after retiring in 2023…

A year later, right after RT, we took a flight to Provence!

Just got back from Puerto Rico and will be in Munich, Bavarian Alps and Croatia in September.

Travel all you can, while you can!

All that you can take to the grave is experiences in life… until then, I’m living large

Enjoy!

Spain and Portugal last year. We're pretty careful and it's not that expensive if you're careful. We're hoping ng to drive from London to Scotland later this year.

Hey, your doin life rite my friend, doing what you love is not a job, and the choice we make ARE the difference. Be it molding, steel work, music or flying, there is no wrong when you do what you love. Keep making good choice s for you, and those that are in your circle will be good as well. Cheers my friend.
