Is This Normal??

Is it normal after nearly 5 years on ADT + Zytig, Prednisone, and Xgeva, to have constant "Flu-Like" symptoms, (sans a fever)? Some days, everything hurts, legs hurt at night , feel like my blood is boiling while I try to sleep. Are these "side effects" or just part of the advanced cancer? Excruciating "WEIRD" leg pain at the onset onset of a hot flash.

Answers if you got em'. Thanks

Yes, similar experience for me. I’ve been on Enzalutamide and Prostap for 2 years now and seem to have flu symptoms every few weeks. I’ve put it down to weakened immune system from ADT, as for legs, no pain, but I often have a strange sensation, where I just can’t get comfortable if I stop moving them for any length of time…

I heard from one other person that Xgeva causes flu-like symptoms but not all the time. I think he said days to a week after the infusion. If you don't know your bones are weak you can consider discontinuing that. But only with advice of your doctor.

I disagree with Hal900 about ADT affecting the immune system but I also am not on the meds he is on. With Erleada and Lupron my immune system has been fine.

I see this sometimes in the discussions here regarding bone strengthening drugs.

Xgeva used to help prevent serious bone problems in people with multiple myeloma or bone metastases from solid tumors.

Poster has/had wide spread bone metastasis. Osteoporosis is not a consideration. Bone metastasis damage is.
