Just checking with you guys, my uncle (54yr old) had a PSA test last year when my Father was diagnosed, it was 1.36. He had another yesterday it was 1.45. Is this increase 'normal'?
His 2 older brothers have PC, unfortunately my Dad's was stage 4 on diagnosis, his older brother caught it 'early' & had prostate removed. Dad has no gene mutations.
Many thanks in advance.

That's not even an increase. It's well within the random variation of the PSA test. He is below the level at which prostate cancer is suspected. But considering the family history, annual PSA tests are warranted.
They caught mine when I had a yearly increase from 3.0 to 4.0......1 full point is a big deal...especially when it hit the 4.0 threshold. Have the guys check their Psa's yearly and of course the women should have their yearly mammogram checkups.
Again, I am not a doctor but I do look Handsome in a white coat.
