Hi, over the past few weeks the degree of wheezing and crackling breathing has become so noticeable, my wife hears it. Currently waiting the result of a CT arranged by my GP after complaining of rib pain. Current in Finland and my capacity to walk has become severely diminished because breathlessness. The wheezing seems to come a bed time. So during the day I’m having to stop frequently to get my breath while at night breathing itself feels an effort. I get some relief from inhalers but to be honest, the sudden change is really scarring me. Anyone else had something similar?
Many thanks for reading this.

Serious symptoms requiring prompt and thorough evaluation. Exam, chest X-ray, and if the CT does not disclose the cause pulmonary testing. May be congestive heart failure . .
That would be great. Coincidentally, my GP listened to my chest before I came on holiday and prescribed some antibiotics to have with me ‘just in case’. I have started taking them and things have been better at night. Still getting breathless easily but perhaps that will improve too. Hope you’re fully recovered from your ‘bug’ now.
