PSA Gone Up

I had RP in January of 2023, started ADT in May of 2023 and went through 38 session of SRT between July and August. In am currently on my second six month dose of Eligard and it should be done in May of this year. In November 2023, I had my first PSA test since SRT and it was .008 ng/mL. I just got another PSA test yesterday and the number has gone up to .015 ng/mL. Should I be worried?

Negligible is good.

Thank you Tall_Allen. The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I first saw the number as I was hoping for the number to become undetectable. Thank you again. Hoping for better news next time around

It doesn't get much better than that. Switch to a standard PSA test if you can. The negligible amounts serve no purpose other than to create anxiety.

Depends on the trend and two tests a trend does not make...here is a good link to use for PSA monitoring; PSADT (doubling time) is key!

...then keep getting the uPSA (ultra low) testing done...it matters and the uPSA can be a good predictor of failure, letting you know 12-14 months ahead that you are headed that way...so far NONE of my past 4 Urologists use or have confidence in uPSA...baffles me...

Last, a good study with very low 'p' factors on the prognosis of your disease given PSA recurrence levels and time...
