I will be spending the winter in Florida. I have always had my PSA tested in Boston at the same medical facility for the last 7 years. In a perfect world I would travel back to Boston for a few day. Any feedback would be appreciated
Thanks

My MO told me to have the test at the same lab every time if possible because there was a slight difference in readings or methods used, only 0.1 or 0.2.
wait until get back home
Have a PSA test in Boston just before leaving and re-test in Florida upon arrival (same hour of the day). PSA doesn't change significant within a few days. Any difference in the two results will be mainly due to different analyser/assays/operational practices etc between the two labs. Doing so, you will have a rough idea of equivalency between the two. Personally, I practice this periodically, even though the two labs are less than a kilometer from each other, as a measure of checking consistency. 14 Euros and 16 Euros total cost, usually paid out of pocket.
when we’re in Florida my husband goes to a Quest Diagnostics near us. He uses Quest Diagnostics at home too.
When my internist drew blood for a PSA assay (unbidden; I'm being followed at MSKCC) and it showed detectable levels, that sent me into paroxysms of panic--until I got back to MSKCC and they checked, and it was again undetectable.
Ditto to my prior post.........
