Hello, I am an advanced mCRPC patient with disease across the skeleton and bone marrow. Given myelosuppression from disease in the marrow, trial paths are more or less closed for me, and the roadmap of what I can do next to contain the disease is very scant and low-probability options.
I have been looking into cryoablation + intratumoral immunotherapy treatment options offered by a few docs around the country - Dr. Gary Onik and Dr. Jason Williams. Found some threads here with patients who have done treatment with Dr. Onik but search on this forum does not show anything about Dr. Williams.
Curious if any members have done treatment with Dr. Williams and what has been the outcome. And if anyone has researched both options, what did they decide and why? Would love to get some feedback to be able to decide my next steps. Thanks in advance.
Hi, sorry there hasn't been any information posted to help you about this. I know that a gentleman from the breast cancer forum took his wife to the Williams institute but sadly no help to her.
I don't know if you have heard of EpicentRx - they are trailing a product RRx-001 for sclc. I think orginally they thought this might also be useful for nepc. They told me there is a Dr who is trying it on patients off trial but I just can't find the name they gave me.
Maybe you could ask them who this is and find out if he had any success. It is used with chemo so might well be tough on the blood numbers. Good luck. I very much hope you can find something helpful
Thanks NickJoy ! I looked up Dr. Alberto Chiappori and he is fully focused on immunotheraphy for SCLC. So none of the trials are in PCa, and his area of interest/focus in not PCa. So not sure how helpful it will be to get in touch with him. I am first trying to close leads related to Intratumoral Immunotherapy + Cryoablation.
I did get in touch with the patient in this community whos wife went thru treatment at Dr. Williams center and like you said, he informed me that it did not work and she passed away last year.
Thank you Somesh for your kind words about my blog. Yes, I have done somatic testing on the tumors multiple times. Dominant gene is CDK12 which is an aggressive mutation with not many targeted treatment options. So continuing to find a way... Thanks again.
Hi all, just want to provide an update on this topic... after much due diligence looking in Onik and Williams treatment options, and having consults with them, I decided to give Dr. Gary Onik's treatment a try. I had the treatment with him in mid-Jan in Florida. So far no major side effect issues, and will know towards end of Feb (PSMA scan) how I am responding to the treatment. Keeping fingers crossed!
