We are Going to Ft. Lauderdale

My husband and I have been in contact with Dr. Gary Onik for a few weeks now.

After much thought, research & prayer we have decided to Go to Dr. Onik for his Immunotherapy Procedure. It is a gamble and risk, but bc of what we have learned about Dr. Onik, we have concluded it is worth the chance to see what happens. We had our oncologist here in Dallas research the protocol and we have his full blessing. As a matter of fact, he told my husband if he were in his shoes he would do the same thing!

Will keep you all posted on how things go! For those of you who believe in the power of prayer, We would appreciate yours for my husband Steve!

Is it Provenge or a procedure of his own?

He withdraws tissue (fluid) or whatever from the main tumor… then combines it with immunotherapy drugs ??? Not sure what and then creates a vaccine and then injects it back into the tumor. He also sends tissue off … to a specialized Lab in Germany to gather info on the DNA and apparently the lab suggest what would work best for the “makeup” of the cancer. After 4-6 weeks, another scan is done to see how things are progressing.

I saw this post some time ago. I see that other treatments for you husband have been the course. If. You don’t mind, what happened with Dr. Onik? I too am searching for the right treatment. Hoping the immunotherapy like what Dr. Onik does was a path I too could follow.
