Hello all. Up to this point in my journey my treatment has been guided by a Urologist with SOC. I had a prostatectomy in December 2021 followed by above normal psa. A PSMA PET scan revealed several metastasis in lymph nodes. Started on Eligard and Aberaterone in February 2022 and 38 sessions of whole pelvic radiation in August-October of 2022 . The plan was for 2 years of Aberaterone and Eligard. I am coming up on that 2 years in February and now find out my treating physician is leaving the practice. I think it would be prudent at this point to move my care to an MO. My psa has been undectable but need to be prepared for what the future may bring. Does anyone have any recommendations for an MO in the Denver Colorado area?

The STAMPEDE trial used 2 years of abiraterone and 3 years of ADT:

Thank you Tall_Allen. I am aware of the 3 year ADT from the STAMPDE trial. That is something I will discuss with my MO when I find one.

I, too, am in Denver, faced with my second doctor retirement this year, both at the same Urology center. I will be following this post for information and suggestions.

I see Dr Thomas Flaig at the UC Health center, Anshutz campus in Aurora. It can be a bit difficult to see him as he is a teaching doctor and sees patients on Thursdays. They do have other doctors in the same office. This facility is highly ranked in the United States

hi there, you can’t go wrong with Dr Patrick Eulitt at the Rocky Mtn Cancer Center! I’ve been seeing him for the past 2 1/2 years and he is hands down the best MO I’ve had in my 9 year PCa journey.

My PC doctor told me that in our area we have lost so many physicians in our community after Covid that most referrals are now only in large cities that surround us. 100 to 250 mile commute. They are on their 3rd hospital administrator also. It’s getting rough out there.

That's discouraging. Thanks for your reply.

I see Dr. Elaine Lam in urologic oncology at UC Health. She is at the UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital in the cancer center. Near the intersection of C-470 and Lucent Blvd. Dr. Lam has been excellent. If you need a radiation oncologist, Dr. Nath in the same building is quite good. (Also in the same building is Dr. Austin Derosa in urology if you need a new urologist.)

My MO is Dr Britt at the Rocky Mountain Cancer center in Boulder. He is very up to date on the latest prostate cancer treatments and IMO works very closely with his patients to find the best possible care.

I’ve worked for maybe 7-8 years with Dr Elizabeth Kessler at Anschutz in Denver. She listens, is flexible, well informed and easy to talk to. She works with me to come up with a plan that considers my preferences and adds insights to help me make informed decisions.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
