jevtana in my future
Looks like you've already done Taxotere (Docetaxel) chemo? How long ago was that? My understanding is that if it's been more than 6 months most doctors would rechallenge Taxotere first, then go on to Jevtana if it fails.

For me, Taxotere revisited already. Looks like I will revisit Cabazitaxel . Visiting Onc 10/9
My husband has had 7 (of 10) Jevtana infusions, and he has tolerated it very well. No nausea, hair loss, etc.. he DOES experience additional fatigue for a few days after infusions, he pushes thru it by going to the gym and taking in lots of fluids.
My husband, age 75, was diagnosed 2.5 years ago with recurrent prostate cancer, Gleason 9, Stage 4 with spread toward bladder but no known distant metastasis, PSA about 4. He's been on Lupron since the diagnosis. Taxotere, Xtandi and few other standard treatments all failed within a month or two. By fall of 2017 his PSA was 8. In November, his oncologist put him on Jevtana. It pretty quickly lowered his PSA to .02, though recently it's crept back up to about 1, which is still pretty low.
This week he is having his 14th treatment of Jevtana, though our doctor originally told us that the maximum number of treatments was 10. There definitely are side effects, especially neuropathy and weakness of legs that have been steadily worsening. Still the Jevtana has been quite effective and at least until his 10th or so treatment, the side effects were quite tolerable. For example, he is able to drive now after having to give it up after the Taxotere.
Based on my husband's experience, Jevtana is well worth trying. We are confident that it has extended his life and we are very grateful for this gift of time.
I hope Jevtana works as well for you, Mathes72. I've been surprised that there hasn't been more discussion of Jevtana in this forum.
