A cure is coming
Johns Hopkins University biomedical engineers have developed a machine-learning model that could one day lead to therapies to treat genetic diseases like cancer and diabetes. The model can predict which enhancers play a role in normal development and disease, and can be used to identify DNA features like physical structure and modifying marks that could help turn on and off genes at will. This research could help scientists better understand enhancer mutations and their associated diseases, leading to improved treatments for genetic conditions.
