Genetic tests are negative.

Learning what are options available with Xtandi so I can talk to my MO better.

You are metastatic with an orchidectomy. Something didn't go right it would seem. You should have no testosterone at this point. I don't think Xtandi can help.

I would go to your doc listen to him. And get multiple second opinions from several docs at major medical centers.

Be prepared to travel.

By the time you are done you will better understand your condition and your options.

That is unlikely to happen if you don't get multiple different opinions from both urologists and medical oncologists.

Not sure what you're asking. The orchiectomy will eliminate the need for Lupron/Eligard/leuprolide.

That you don't need leuprolide may confuse your MO -- mine keeps tripping up on my not needing an injection every 3 months -- so now he's pushing Xtandi, ignoring my DEXA results and the years I took it previously and slavishly insisting on seeing me, in person, every 3 months.

So no balls = no testosterone from the primary source (there are other glands that produce testosterone in small amounts).

Xtandi is to slow the growth of the PC by blocking androgen receptors on the cancer: xtandi.com/how-xtandi-works And, as the manufacturer's site (see link) explains Xtandi blocks androgen receptors so it blocks _all_ androgens, not just testosterone.

What else would you take? If your doctor believes in triplet therapy (mine doesn't -- he's a teacher and brightest bulb locally -- so he only does old fashioned SOC) I suppose you could add chemo.

What say you Tall Allen?
