The third-leading cause of death in US most doctors don’t want you to know about

PUBLISHED THU, FEB 22 2018 9:31 AM EST UPDATED WED, FEB 28 2018 9:38 AM EST

Ray Sipherd, special to CNBC.com

A recent Johns Hopkins study claims more than 250,000 people in the U.S. die every year from medical errors. Other reports claim the numbers to be as high as 440,000.

Medical errors are the third-leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.

I can believe it

I totally believe that! My Dad got a pacemaker at a community hospital that he didn’t need. He developed an infection from dirty leads and it was removed at Mass General Hospital in Boston. They cleaned-up the infection, and determined he didn’t need the Pacemaker in the first place.

I went for an MRI of my shoulder prior to surgery for a Sarcoma. The techs prepped me up, then began an Endo-Rectal Probe and I stopped them cold. Had one already for my PCa, and knew this was not right! When I asked them how this would visualize my shoulder, they panicked, started apologizing and calling people.

I just got dressed and left. Fired my then Oncologist as the communication from him was lacking, and they could not reach him that day. He left the hospital soon after.

I have very little trust in doctors now. Took me a long time to find one who listens, and communicates well to me, and other hospital staff.

Well my first Endo Rectal MRI was very uncomfortable but tolerable. A couple of years later and after I had my bed fried they sent me for another one.....This time the rectal probe felt like a hot poker up there for 30 minutes....Doctor stopped the procedure to inject me with contrast for the last 15 minutes of the test. I told him I was in excruciating pain, so he said let's stop the procedure. I said no and to continue since I didn't want to start the probe all over again and have to repeat the first 30 minutes.

So a few days later I saw my M.O. and told him about how painful the second probe MRI was and how much different it was from the first one. So he says to me "Why did we send you for the ER-MRI?"

I was found innocent of second degree manslaughter by the way...
