Oh Kaliber , didn't post Food Porn dinner the night of Chemo. Did a sous vide Lamb Chop at 131 for 4 hours, then pan seared and let it rest. Potatoes sautéed in bacon grease🥓💙
oh dear ….. braised young lamb chops .. properly seasoned and cooked ..they are another of the true flavor treasures in the foodie world. My mouth salivating just thinking about them.
I used to go out of my way to stay in moonstone beach ( Cambria ) just to eat those at the mbb&g ( moonstone Beach bar and Grill ) in moonstone beach ( they have a substantial presence on Google ) . Their “ rack of lamb “ should probably be illegal because it’s so habit forming. Two or three years ago, the hammer deconstructed their methods and recipe and can duplicate them at home now. She has learned to make so many “ professional grade “ dishes , in the last few years …..she could actually cook professionally.
Ohhh, i will have to take a trip up the Coast for that, maybe next Spring
Was in Bakersfield after chemo and saw that Lamb Chops at the grocery store, and I started drooling too. Haven't had lamb in a while, and Beef was way too pricey.
That's awesome that The Hammer has achieve that level of cooking skill!
get a rack of ( younger if possible ) lamb in the market. Make chops…. Put them into a foodsaver vacuum dish in the morning with a marinade of chopped / minced fresh garlic and Herdade do esporao galega olive oil ( about $25 on Amazon ) ( very thickly painted on and drizzled ) and draw them down vacuum wise and put in the fridge. Later in the day - evening , break them out of the marinating vacuum pak and quickly sear them well ( both sides ) in a hot skillet or a outdoors gas grill. After searing them quickly, remove them and put them in the oven ( around 400f ) and cook til slightly pink inside …. Remove from oven and rest 5 minutes and serve. They cool off kinda fast , so you should get to chomping pronto.
This photo is a foodsaver vacuum packing kitchen machine. They are great for marinading, vacuum packing pounds of valuable kona coffee beans, saving cheese that you freshly opened and want to preserve the delicate flavor , and shocking amounts of handy kitchen applications. You ca put liquids like soups, premix beverages, many things in the pre made foodsaver bags ( or rolled plastic stock in machine ) and freeze them then take them out and draw a vacuum on the soup or ? …to keep it fresh tasting - not oxidizing during storage.
This picture shows a foodsaver, …. With fresh blini in vacuum packs ready for the deep freeze and a vacuum container ( same container used to marinate lamb chops ) full of blini to be used later for a cheese and meat charcuterie.
Foodsaver for the kitchen, …..fresh cooked blini ready for storage.
Oh sweet, that vacuum sealer will really get the marinade to penetrate deeply. Your ingredients sound wonderful. Mahalo for the recipe, I gotta get one to cook and to store foods also.
I'll check Black Friday sales next week for a foodsaver and try it out
Mahalo Bruddah, you got wonderful kitchen skills !!!
foodsavers have a large assortment of premade save bags of many sizes and inside the foodsaver is a large roll of 8” bag stock that allows you to seal up about anything. There are large assortments of hard side plastic containers on Amazon and eBay that suit any need. Type “ foodsaver bags “ into Amazon to see the brain numbing assortments of bags and rolls, suitable for all your needs . Once you start using one, you’ll wonder why you waited so long. We use ours numerous times every week. None better to pack and seal cannabis for “ keep it fresh “ storage too. Just say’in.
My neighbor gave us 2 cleaned and cooked Dungeness crabs tonight, caught this morning. Haven't had them for awhile. Not sure the term food porn would have applied to the pics but damn they were good. What can I say, I got crabs.
yayahahahaya … brother Randy, you da bomb. You’ve been stuck as much as I have , probably more. You can take a serious licking and keep on ticking to perfection. You are ….by far …. the upbeat poster boy for uplifting posts and being the shinning example of keeping a positive attitude in the face of “ serious “ crap. Wow …. both amazing AND impressive….
I want to be like Randy … I’ll bet I’m not the only one.
LOL, yup been stuck a whole lot :-). When I did the PSMA Scan a few weeks ago, it took 5 times to get the IV in to run the imaging solution, then had Blood work done next and then chemo the day after. But, as a patient, I can't get upset cuz that would make the nurse more nervous, which could mean more "fishing" to find the blood vessel :-(.
Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much) Bruddah💙
As you know, I'm a pretty upbeat, optimistic guy and esp after the Trolling and Ad hominem attacks that caused members to bolt, I decided to change direction and post more positively.
Yea, have taken a Lickin', but I'm still standing!!!
well, you are definitely adding your strong upbeat touch to this site brother. Considering the grimness that this disease elicits , nothing could be better for your brothers here. Keep it going brother …. It’s good medicine.
Amen Bruddah and Mahalo nui loafor the sentiments💙.
Just doing my lil part with the Ripples to boost moods on here esp for the men on d*mn ADT with the accompanying depression.
I mentioned above that I had extra Mac nut candies, so I went to each Chemo bay and offered the patients a lil treat and wished them well. They were so appreciative😘
