My husband has severe joint pain in knees. He is now on Radium 223 treatment. Can he receive steroid injection?

Joint pain
I'm on Dexamathasone plus Naproxen the latter dealing with inflammation. Unfortunately this may be the price we pay for Radium 223 but it does improve after the third jab. Does he have mets near the knees or do you think this might be referred pain?
Thank you for your reply. He had his 3rd jab of Radium 223 a few weeks ago. He had another Bone and CT scan last week with a follow-up with Oncologist on Monday. We will find out then if there are any Mets in or around the knees. He also had X-rays done last week with a July 19th follow-up with our GP to find out if it's arthritic pain or not.
like finlay66 says, it might be Mets to the knees.
It’s true in my case, I have massive met caused bone damage in my knees , especially my left knee. My left knee is 3X larger than normal due to Met disfiguration and right one 2X . Both are the source of a goodly amount of physical pain I take opiates for ( along with my lower spine ).
Look at his early scans to see if he had a lot of uptake in his knees , and his skeletal joints. I have Mets in almost every single joint in my body and they can be very painful for me. Not saying this is the actual source of his pains but it might be. Pain meds , opiates, fix my knee and spine pain very effectively.
I hope you can find relief for him right away.
❤️❤️❤️
Yes, he can receive steroid injections while he is using Xofigo. My orthopedist doesn't like to give steroid injections because it breaks down tissue at the joint and may eventually make the arthritis worse. He gave me Meloxicam (an NSAID) for the knee pain and physical therapy. It worked!
