Just a FYI. The Prostate Cancer Patient Conference will have several bone pain (probably including something about joint pain) presentations. eventbrite.com/e/prostate-c...

Aspirin or an aleve

For extreme pain in my ankles after running, I take Advil to lower the inflammation, and it helps quite a bit. I also take Boswella powder in my electrolyte drink, which appears to be protective against joint inflammation.

Doc told me not to take Advil because it's ibuprofen and doesn't play well with my Xarelto. I've read that Aleve is better and it is made for inflammation and joint pain.

My understanding is Aleve not Advil relieves the inflammation. I also started taking the Boswella but not sure if it helps.

Ok, thanks, also there's a bunch of good threads on anti-inflammatories on this site, just a couple I found:

I have a rather serious amount of Met caused joint damage in literally all of my bone joints. Many of them, like my left knee, ankles, feet.... are actually noticeably. deformed by the cancer.

I take Vicodin to generally eliminate or dull the generalized pain and have dilaudid ( hydromorphone) for the intermittent shooting pains that make you dance around the room.

These work great at first, but like anything, your body gets used to them and their effectiveness diminishes over time . Still they provide some amount of blissful relief . Be aware of the nasty side effects and potential for dependency that opiates pain management can bring.

If you are in the USA, you might have to sign a “ drug abuse contract “ and agree to being tested for drug use. I’m with Kaiser, and I’m blood tested monthly and get a sprinkling of urine tests randomly. Over the last two years, I’ve been prescribed well over a couple thousand pain meds. Kaiser is very careful about those.

I've used COQ 10, the Jarrow QH version worked for me for many years. Good luck!

Aleve, but I have to say that when we move to Arizona quite a bit of that joint pain was relieved!
