PSA rising during Docetaxel treatments

Is it bad if PSA rises slightly during Docetaxel treatments? It’s risen 3 out of the 4 treatments he’s had. Doc doesn’t seem too worried but we assumed it would go down. Scans looked good.

Thank you!

My PSA went down very little during my 10 doxytaxel and I was concerned that it did not drop dramatically as I had hoped. My MO said that you can not judge the effectiveness of chemo by PSA during treatment. So I am "patiently" waiting for the next PSA in August (about 3 months after end of doxy) Apparently there is no point in rushing it as the results will not mean much?

For my husband chemo was administered as initial treatment prior to Zytiga. His PSA first went up as well. It was explained to us as dying cancer cells expressing PSA. Not sure if that might apply in your case.
