Carboplatin & Etoposide

Hi everyone. My dad will be starting Carboplatin and Etoposide next Monday. I was hoping to get some tips for helping make my dad comfortable. I have read random tips such as starting Claritin before and buying ice mitts/hat, etc. but wanted to ask those who have been through chemo, what are some helpful tricks and tips? Thanks in advance!
