My most recent Lupron injection started with the nurse going to give me a monoclonal antibody injection until I pointed out I wasn't to get that. Then I think she missed the deltoid. The injection was close to if not into the tendon at its insertion. Will the depot be good for 3 months given here?

Lupron injection error?
Are your Deltoids larger than you Gluteus Maximus?
I would never want Lupron in my shoulder. Yeah, my butt hurts for a couple days, but more to store!!
it hasn't hurt at all till this time with bad placement but not bad
it has to go into a muscle. You just had it a different one than usual. Eligard (the same as Lupron) goes in the belly and hurts like hell !
Good luck!
I stopped getting the Eligard in the belly, I now get it in my arm. So much better
Apples and oranges. Eligard is injected SubC, Lupron is IM.
I always have my Prostap (lupron) shot in my outer thigh. Never had any problems at the injection site or any pain from it.
My Lupron injection has always been in my butt (FWIW)
In my case, something similar to what you mentioned was injected into a muscle above my waistline as a first step. It left a lump inside my body just below my stomach. This supposedly was the receptacle for the subsequent shots that I began receiving after 2 months. After that I have been receiving the my lupron injection every six months. I think it is typically to begin the injection with the initial shot into your muscle. Lupron has been able to keep my testosterone low; however I still get the flashes. I still feel fatigued every now and then. Fight on warrior. Best to you and my fellow warriors.
My Lupron (only one) was given intramuscular in my butt (glutimous maximus?), a big hard to miss muscle. I actually am surprised that most of the responders here were at other sites. Several of those are often used for other injections though. The ones I have had in my butt seem to have shorter pain and swelling issues. I am sure there must be good medical reasons for the other sites. Personally, I would certainly not want a stomach shot. That would not be a common intramuscular site.
I know mistakes happen, and something similar almost occurred to me the last time I got my Lupron injection. The nurse kept on insisting that I was getting two infusions, I said no, I'll only get the Lupron. She continued to prepare and opened two boxes of two different medications. I told her again, I am here to get one Lupron injection, she said no sir, I have directions to give you two. By this time I was about to lose it. I asked her to call the oncologist office and verify. It turned out she was trying to give me a Zytiga infusion, which I did get four months ago and asked to not get it anymore. Then she apologized and processed the Lupron injection, which she didn't know how to prepare it and asked for help! Always keep an eye on what they do when getting treatment.
Funny how this is so appropriate to me. First I am the care giver to my wife and was extremely concerned about the side effects of Lupron. So I asked the doctor to give me a one month shot to see how it effected me and my required duties as a caregiver.
Fast forward to my shot. I reminded the PA I was only going to have a one month shot. She gave me the shot and I remember thinking “boy that is a lot of stuff going in”. Yes it was. She gave me a three month shot.
Luckily I have had almost no side effects. Somebody was looking out for me.
You have to be on top of everything in regards to medicine today. You can not trust the system or the people.
