Lupron Injection Site Pain

Hi all - curious if any of you have had this weirdness.

I got my first Lupron injection Aug 17th (3mth 22.5mg i believe) - had the initial soreness at injection site on shoulder that is typical of even say a flu shot. That pain did go away in couple days but came back on the 10th day and still is there a bit.

Perhaps thats just how time released medicine works? I was just surprised that that familiar pain returned several days after injection.

Thanks

I had a 30 day then a 60 day shot with minor soreness then got the 90 day shot and i was crippled for a few weeks (all shot in lower back/upper glutes area) and notified my doctor and he got me on orgovyx. What a relief.

Hello I am curious - how did your doctor explain the differences of Orgovyx vs Lupron other than the pill/injection point? Thanks -

The injection debility was evidently enough to justify this change. I am at Mass

gen Hosp which is a center of excellence and they run a lot of clinical trials so I think they have a lot of pull and credibility.

I also have had sciatica pain from a prior injury 30 years ago so i suspect the nurse injected it to fast and my prior injury just could deal with the inflammation.

I take the 6 month variety in the lower back, just above my buttocks. I have received two injections so far. I have encountered zero injection site problems. I am scheduled for my third shot early September.

18 Lupron shots so far and no significant pain or discomfort. Guess I've at least been lucky on that.

my next will be leg or butt. I will have to ask my doc why the pain came back. Just to say it again, I fully expected to have some pain that is normal with ANY shot. I didnt however expect that pain to come back several days later lol

I've never had any pain; report this to whoever does your injections. Because it's intramuscular maybe they didn't aim very well.

I had been getting 3-month Lupron injections in my hip. Hurt like the Dickens for a week. The last two injections were Eligard, given in the stomach. No pain following the injection! 😁

I have had 4-month Lupron injections 3 times so far with no pain at all. I get the shots in my upper buttocks.

In my experience I have found that the expertise and skill of the person giving the shot has a direct impact on the side effects of the shot.
