Chemo vs Xofigo

I am seven years from diagnosis (PSA 1,666). Still have my prostate. Firmagon brought PSA to undetectable in five months. After continuous Eligard, Xtandi, and Clinical Trial, back up to 800 PSA.

My decision now is this: Chemo or XOFIGO (RA 223). Anyone out there that can help me with their experiences with either?

Thanks,

Frank.

Frank, first Congrats on making it 7 years with a tough journey, and now PSA back up to 800.

Please read my Bio, by clicking on my photo icon. I am a big believer in getting rid of the Mother Ship. You have not yet. I am persistent ( to a fault). I wanted to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at it. I was turned down as unresectable by 7 Surgeons. Most citing NCCN Guidelines, with 3 Radiologists along the way saying No. But I didnt give up. My PSA is now down to .008 after 13 months since getting 5 days of SABR to prostate and 3 days to T5. From all I have read, LU-177, or LU-J591 seem to be effective like Docetaxel but with less side effects. All of these seem to work better (including Provenge) when done early.

I hope you can figure something out soon, and get back in the single digits with your PSA. Dont delay. These are serious numbers you are posting

All my best to you and yours, Mike

This really helpful. I'm starting Ra223 today but I've noticed that the radiotherapy I had a couple of weeks has also helped.

I'm hoping to start RA223 today. We made this decision as the chances of success with Cabizataxel were only 30% and Docetaxel at best kept things stable although my PSA was still 90. It has now doubled! Dual therapy is on the cards for discussion with my Oncologist in May but I'm hoping that Ra223 will really get to the root of the growing cancer.

223 worked so well for me that we have decided to put off chemo and do another round of 223.

I had no side effects at all. The sanitary requirements are simple and easy.

I hope you have the success I had.
