Any suggestions for headache?

After initial diagnosis in 2015, I've had EBRT; brachytherapy; chemo in 2019; ADT since 2019 chemo; two bone Mets on spine since 2019, but no detectable PSA. Have been on Orgovyx since December, 2020.

Still have everyday, lowgrade --- not migraine --- headaches, for which I take Excedrin. In talking with my doctors, we conclude it is a side effect of the ADT/Orgovyx.

My RBC/hemoglobin counts have all been low normal since the chemo, WBC count normal, so I recently added Hema-Plex with iron as a supplement.

Your thoughts appreciated.

Be careful about adding iron if your serum levels are normal . The low RBC/hemoglobin is often the results of low testosterone rather than iron.

TA, thanks for the suggestion; my iron levels are normal, no anemia. My next CMP/CBC/PSA is in a few weeks, so I will keep an eye on my iron levels. Thanks again for the heads up.

Look at the MCH, if it is not low you don't need iron. Anemia caused by ADT is usually normocytic normochromic and it is not due to low iron levels. Iron supplementation is not needed.

My MCH in January was 30.8, normal, so thanks for the tip!

I just love these two:

Definition of Italian foreplay: "Rosa I'm home".

Definition of Irish foreplay: "Brace yourself Bridget".

Derf, I exercise six days a week, swim three miles, lift weights, so hopefully it is helping. Thx.

My MO prescribed Celebrex for me due to ongoing headaches from Xtandi, helps with body aches and pains from long term ADT as well. I’ve been taking it for several years now.

Thqnks, Ed. I tired Celebrex a few months ago, though it was of little help, but I appreciate the suggestion.
