PSA after SBRT to T7

A recent PET/PSMA showed a single PC tumor on T7. My PSA at the time was 1.1

I was initially treated 5 years ago with ADT, Radiation to prostate and chemo and

my PSA nadir was in the range of .6 to .8 over the last few years.

My recent SBRT treatment was 45 gray over 5 treatments. One month after my

last radiation (Feb 15) treatment my PSA is now 1.6. Is this normal to rise after SBRT? Shouldn't my PSA be going down?

1) Rumor has it that dying pca cells shed significant psa before they blink out

2) there are likely other tiny mets that have not made themselves visible

Thanks for your comments. WRT your first comment, I've heard this "rumor" as well, but

I'm wondering if there's definitive research that says this is what's going on. On your second comment, I understand that there may be smaller mets that the PET/PSMA didn't pick up. I'll need to deal with those later.

Regardless that met on T7 had a horrible few days and T7 is probably feeling relieved that the interloper will be exiting stage right!

The imaging tests will not detect all the metastases. If one has bone mets the cancer is everywhere. Treatment to one met does not guarantee to stop the progression of the cancer (other mets which were not visualized) particularly if the cancer is mCRPC.

If you have been on ADT and there was radiological progression of the cancer, then the cancer is mCRPC.

My PSA went up after radiotherapy to t3 then came down to undetectable. Probably abscopable event.

Thanks ctflatlander. Hopefully mine will be headed down soon. I'm not sure if

you meant to type "abscopable". I don't know if it's a mistype.
