My husband, age 68, has been approved for Xofigo. He has 7 detectable bone metastasis, but had not experienced pain as yet. Gleason 9, PSA is 17 and trending upward, after 8 years on Lupron post PR and one year on Xtandi.
I'd be interested in hearing about the experience of those who've done the Xofigo treatment as well as thoughts about the timing. Our radiation oncologist indicates that the timing is our call, that some prefer to wait 3-6 months at this point.
I've really found this group to be a source of great information. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I suspect it may be more beneficial sooner rather than later. While it is strictly not indicated unless there is pain (that was just how the clinical trial was done - Bayer wanted to prove it reverses pain), any patient claim of pain is good enough, and a savvy oncologist can write up a good justification.
