Currently assessing efficacy of Cabazitaxel and possible next steps. Future options could include, Radium 223, Pluvicto, other. Also, Dr has put Carbolatin on the table as a “stand alone” therapy i.e., not combined with Cabazitaxel. My question: Does anyone have experience/advice with respect to using Carbolatin alone? Thank you.

Advice Please
I would get Pluvicto and following that Cabazitaxel. Carboplatin is used in case of neuroendocrine PCa.
Thank you. I am currently taking Cabazitaxil and undertaking scans to determine effectiveness. Pluvicto will not be available until a bit later. In the meantime, and dependent on the Cabazitaxil assessment, MO is attempting to lineup possible immediate next steps. I have a session scheduled next week to further discuss/finalize with him. I will raise your reference to neuroendocrine....
Thx
My husband had his first Cabazitaxal infusion yesterday but my mind is already wondering the same question…..What comes next?
Thank you for your response. As next steps I am currently considering Carboplatin, Radium 223 and Pluvicto. In Ottawa Canada Pluvicto is currently unavailable and still unfunded thereby having a price tag of 27k per dose. Wishing you the best!
Do you have a genomic aberration? Even so, carboplatin is usually given as part of a cocktail:

Thanks for your response Tall_Allen. No, I do not have a genomic aberration. From our previous discussions I also remember that carboplatin is usually given as part of a cocktail. I will discuss with my MO next week. I am not quite sure why my MO sees carboplatin as a standalone option. Perhaps it's because he is anticipating that the Cabazitaxel has stopped working so instead of combining carboplatin with cabazitaxel he thinks we should use carboplatin as standalone therapy. Might that make sense? Thank you for the journal reference will incorporate into my meeting next week. Thank you!
Thank you Sir! Will also follow up with the trial. You are a wealth of knowledge and information! Thank you!
My experience is with carboplatin added to cabazataxal. My psa rose a little bit during treatment and then dropped at the end; my PET after 3 and then after 6 were unimpressive but much better after 9. I had nine cycles in total. I've never heard of carboplatin alone for PC but your MO is smarter than me. Another detail. I have some raging neuropathy in my feet which my MO says is due to carboplatin (my feet were on ice to counteract the cabazataxal).
Thank you for your response/information. We are not sure Cabazitaxel is working i.e., after three cycles PSA is rising. I am meeting with my Dr. next week but suspect that is why he is including stand alone Carboplatin as an option to discuss. That said, I note that there have not been any responses from forum participants regarding their use of such a strategy. Living in Ottawa, Canada, I have had the added fun this weekend of dealing with 35cm of snow, on top of a malfunctioning snow blower!! Not great for the aches and pains. Wishing you the Best!
