Bone scan confirmed with MRI active bone met or new lesion at tail bone. Other mets are still stable. DX last year with Advanced PC and bone mets. Had Orch last yr bringing PSA down from 67 to now <0.1 and been on Nubeqa since Jan. this year. Psa still at <0.1 Oncologist said sending to Dr. Andrew Farach, RO but Dr. Bin S. Teh, RO office called to make appt. Both are at Houston Methodist RO. Anyone have any experience with either one of these doctor's? Both sound good but throws a curve when you expect a call from one and get another. She's also recommending a needle biopsy of the lesion but thinking we should see the RO first before disturbing it?? Thoughts asap??

can’t go wrong with either Drs Bin Teh or Brian Butler. They were my ROs in 2003. Both Professors at a major medical school. I highly recommend. Last saw Dr Teh four years ago. He was seeing a close friend and I had him call.

Should I ever need radiation again, that is who I would see I am at Memorial Hermann to follow my oncologist after the Baylor College of Medicine split with Methodist

I wholeheartedly recommend Drs Bin Teh and Brian Butler! They were my ROs in 2003, both are Professors at a major medical school and are heavily entrenched in research. When I met and had 35 sessions of IMRT, Methodist was associated with Baylor College of Medicine. Then the divorce and a Methodist became associated with Weill Cornrll Medical School. They got be to my medical oncologist who was also a researcher and Professor. They only reason I went to Memorial Herman is that with the divorce my MO moved. Should I have a need, I would go back to these doctors for treatment if necessary or referral.

BTW, both were heavily involved with the development of IMRT. At the time I went there were only three machines in the US.

I last saw Bin Teh fours years ago when I referred a close friend (I went along).

Thank you so much! After reading about Dr. Teh, he does sound great and does more than Brachytherapy which sounds like a lot of what Dr. Farach does and most of his reviews are from women so maybe Dr. Teh treats more PC? BTW, who is your MO? Ours seems to be gone a lot and not sure if she's staying in Houston.

Dr Robert Amato until he died..... I have been with Dr Julie Rowe ever since.

"She's also recommending a needle biopsy of the lesion but thinking we should see the RO first before disturbing it?? " What she has on her mind? I would like to understand.

Maybe she thinks that it is safer to radiate te met first and then to biopsy it?

I don't have enough knowledge or experience.

I was myself alwas concerned to biopsy anything.

I just know that during chemotherapy biopsying is not recommended as it can cause infection.

What do you think what she has on her mind?

She's thinking it may be a new cancer not related to PC. But, looks like it would be radiated anyway? A video visit with the new RO today so will ask that question plus more if anyone has any advice on questions we should ask? This is new to us. BTW, I'm the wife.
