ADT (Abi/pred & Lupron) Vacation Begins Today

Last two PSA readings at 0.02. Will take monthly PSA blood tests going forward. For the trial I’m in my RO wants to wait till PSA reaches 2.0 and then promises to zap my bone mets as long as I’m still oligometastatic. Reading recent posts about how Abi may result in PCa coming back more aggressively made the decision to stop ADT easier.

It is dangerous to make decisions based on posts that do not pertain to you.

The decision was already made, months ago. It made it easier thinking there may be a benefit from intermittent Abi I had not considered

Good luck! Uncharted territory for many of us, but with oligometastatic disease you have a good chance of staying off the crappy meds for a while and recurrence (if any) could be years away. Stay positive!

You are making a very, very interesting move! Please keep this forum posted as many of us are either already on abi or are scheduled to start in 2020 (like me).

Thank you.

WOW, this is an old post. Long story short I had my 4 Mets radiated in Oct 2020 after confirming with a GA68 PSMA scan at UCLA. Currently on a 1 year Lupron vacation and 8 month Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) vacation. PSA still undetectable. T still at castrate levels, around 50.

Wow that’s great news except for maybe the t still under 50. I just started my lupron/ orgavix vacation after 7 months and 5 months on zytiga, while it wasn’t horrible I just didn’t have the energy or endurance after t was below 12. I started the ivermectin while getting off the adt, test returned 485 and encouraging results of psa dropping to .9 from 6 and energy returned immediately. I’ll monitor psa closely twice a month during vacation n keep you posted…
