I'll take this one. Not the one a couple months ago claiming tumor growth during sleep.

It wasn't until after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer that I was diagnosed with a serious sleep apnea problem. It may have contributed to problems with atrial fibrillation too. Prior to having a-fib ablation surgery my electrophysiologist (heart surgeon) had me undergo tests for sleep apnea. I didn't fit the typical profile but I had it alright. Been using a CPAP machine ever since. Surgeon said that a-fib can come back after ablation surgery if sleep apnea not properly controlled.

No sleep sucks. A-fib sucks too. Had both if those, I can totally relate to it.A-fib: luckily for me I managed to correct it with potassium and magnesium alterations.

Sleep: I managed to change 6-7 times a night toilet visits to sleeping all the way through with either melatonin or vitamin D3. Melatonin had me going about 2 times a night but much more tolerable than 6 times. Melatonin made me feel horrible the next day, and I had brain fog. The D3 I went up to 15KIUs and gradually reduced it to 10K. Took a couple of months. Some people might need more or less, everyone's different.

Thank you for this link. I am reading his book about Sleep at the moment. Very enlightening. What worries me about PCa men is that many have broken sleep at night as they have to get up. Wonder if they should all have siesta in the daytime to make up some of the lost sleep.

Great. I just read in the book that it is a good idea for us all to have natural biphasic sleep and a healthy diet (p. 70).

I am not sure what the benefit is to telling me my sleep patterns are poor : ie up 2-4 times per night.

My secret wespon is my stainless steel jug. It's filled in the morning and I don't remember a thing. Next to my passport the most important thing to take along when traveling.

I agree. My portable urinal allowed me to get some rest even when I was having to pee several times a night.
