Hi All
Anybody going on to the pluvicto trial ?
Kindest Raoul
Which trial? There are several.
Since January of this year, I have been on the LuPSMA177 trial at Dana Farber, Boston, MA. To date have completed 4 infusions. Side effects are minimal for me, fatigue being the most noticeable. Initial PSA 8.1 now 0.21.
Are you castrate resistant?
I started on the trial in April 2022 when my PSA was 261. After first infusion it went to 366. After second infusion PSA is 302.Only side effects are fatigue and lack of appetite
I am waiting for the trial at UCSF, recruiting in August for which you do not have had chemo. There are not many trials without the requirement of chemo first. My oncologist is onboard, just have to qualify and they don't let you know until they are recruiting and they interview you . I guess August is not that far away
Also does anyone know if this is true? My oncologist said that clinicaltrials.gov is often not up to date. Where do we find about new trials?
Ask about the SPLASH trial. Designed for CRPCa but pre-chemo. Several centers around the country are participating. I am signed up through Moffitt in Tampa. Starting round one in a couple days.
Hoping it helps knock down the beast

Hi
In the UK under the NHS
Not good news at all unfortunately is how the surgeon began June (21)
Male 60 -PSA at 41 - I have inoperable prostate cancer stage 4 - Gleason 5+4 = 9 and grade 3b which has got out of the prostate capsule - through the lymph nodes and has spread ( metastisised) to the bloodstream and my spine - The Surgeon told me " I will initially be treated with a chemical castration which will stop my testes and adrenal gland which also produces testosterone when not making adrenalin from both producing testosterone starving the prostate cancer of food - however this will only work for a limited time until the prostate cancer that has spread learns where the bone marrow is - it will then use this as a food store and eventually will deprive my body of oxygen rich red blood cells so I will then require new red blood cells from a transfusion this however cannot go on indefinitely and the consultant says when it approaches needing two pints a day it will then be time to be placed into an induced coma with pain killers and then unfortunately it is palliative care and regrettably time to say goodbye !"
The Surgeon indicates 5 years ! <- wife understandably upset
I hope this has not upset anyone reading this but I feel that knowing the course of events once the cancer has escaped past the lymph nodes and spread to the blood and bone is one that you need to prepare for - I hope this helps someone - kindest Raoul and wife !
My take on it ! (Aug 21)
Just started with Zoladex - Psa down to 5 ! - Just started on Xtandi no results yet !
I have discovered that Prostate Cancer likes Testosterone and Sugar and that Alcohol will affect the drugs efficacy.
Am now on Xtandi @ 160 Psa down to 0.15 <- I expect it to remain this low for on average 18 / 24 months the Oncologists assistant tells me !
Last reading October .09 - 2 Months in - 58 months left ?
Shit............... I just finished writing you a wonderful response when this damn English made computer froze on me and I lost it all...... Anyway let me apologize for the mistake my wife made in writing you that bio request. That's the second mistake she made in her entire life, first mistake was marrying me. Anyway fook that doctor who said 5 years. Many of us have been around for many many years, and you will be too. I give you at least 20 to 25 years so tell you wife to cancel that black dress she was ordering and to take you to dinner. Take care and smile all the time and forget Pca.
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
