Pluvicto

Went for consult on Monday and my husband has the tumors that Pluvicto should work . But he also has a lot of old shadows that could be from the zytiga took care of and are just scars or from radiation treatment. We were told after reading the PSMA that usually if you have the tracers you are given a 85% chance that Pluvicto will work and 15% of the time it doesn’t so we fall below that since we have the unknown. The reason why I am writing this is we saw Dr. Ulaner Monday he said go on vacation have fun it will take 4 weeks to get approved and Pluvicto ordered . It was approved by Wedesday and he can do it on the 15 what would you do? Or do it on 21 then you have to be 6 feet away from people aleast for three days. And we hav small grandchildren. So cancel vacation ? Cancel Christmas ? And wait till January 5? Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I don't like waiting but I am that way with everything

I cant answer that for you I'm sorry.

For me my cancer treatment comes first and my family feels the same. If I get that taken care of then in the long run there will be more time to spend with family. It's also less stressful on us already stressed to know we are taking action when treatment is offered.

We've made sacrifices during this journey in regards to time with grandchildren especially now that I am on chemo again. We skipped thanksgiving and for christmas the kids will be able to isolate for 3 days then test for covid then come stay with us but shortly after christmas when I will be recovered from one of the after infusion chemo crashes.

I don't know if he currently has signs of rapid progression or not such as a fast rising PSA but maybe that will factor in your decision.

We’ll his Doctor office called since he just finish his chemotherapy November 23 and that one took him 2 weeks to recover they think it will be ok to wait till January 5.

I ran into this problem with my doctor. He didn't want to give me another cycle of Cabazitaxel because of upcoming Pluvicto, but I argued that my blood counts have come back quickly and we have a month so he was OK with it.

He would also need to quarantine from small children for at least 1 week after treatment. Scheduling your life is definitely a challenge.

Yes our grandchildren are 4,5,7 and 10 years old. That would be too close to Christmas if we would have done the December 21st. And we have company coming in to town and staying at our house.

My husband it's scheduled to have the first Pluvicto treatment on December 22. Definitely is going to be a different Christmas for us. I pray everything will work what's best for your husband and family. You are not alone, there's hope🙏
