I always have an excess because I tell them I have less than I do when the pharmacist asks, so I don't run out. I think I have about two weeks extra so if anyone is short let me know. Interesting that it is $150 in India, my insurance pays something like $1500
When are we going to get a representatives who actually lower drug costs as they keep promising. We have the highest price for the same drugs that cost 10% elsewhere. And our universities develop most of the drugs with our subsidization.
I had a similar pricing experience. Without Med D, approximately $11,000/mo; Med D approximately $1,100/mo.; SaverRX $256/mo. at Costco. I have come to view the spread as a measure of the corruption and collusion among pharmaceutical firms, HMOs, insurance companies and politicians. I have no objection to fair pricing and sufficient profits to support research and development. But, I do take exception to such blatant abuse.
Get it online from CVS specialty pharmacy. Have your doctor send them an Rx. You will never have to wait and they will FedEx it you. They'll even remind you that it is time to refill. Put a credit card on file with them an you can refill online.
The pharmacy running out happened to me too a few months back. I was able to stretch my supply for a few days by taking a single pill a day with food instead of two pills a day without food. Not ideal as your body will absorb much more of the drug when taken with food but at least it can carry you for a few days longer that way
Wow..... When I was a young whipper snapper..... I used to dick-er a lot.........All cultures too......... No more dick-ering now, I'm stuck paying the full price....
The generic for Zytiga in the USA is Abiraterone which is readily available almost anywhere ni the USA and by Health Warehouse and other sites. No reason to fret over getting the brand name Zytiga at a much higher price than the Generic. I have been taking Abiraterone for 5 years now and have never had a problem getting it.
Check with your MO but I do not believe that being off of the Zytiga for 4 or 5 days would be a problem. I had to be off it for about 3 weeks once last year due to high blood pressure concerns. and my MO said that would not be a problem.
