My Jeff is still pretty groggy, however, he’s definitely more lucid. He has gotten a little confused, but is about 90% back to normal, but that’s when he’s awake. He constantly nods off and still sleeps a lot.
After an MRI and an EEG, they were able to officially rule out stroke. Jeff had the wires on his head for the EEG for over 24 hours. While being monitored, they also determined he hadn’t suffered any additional seizures
There’s a tumor on the left side of his skull that’s in the dura and it’s pressing into the soft tissue of his brain. They feel this is what caused the original seizure.
He will continue on the seizure medication and they hope to move his brain radiation up (before Wednesday).
They anticipate discharge on Wednesday. They would like to see Jeff more alert and he needs to see physical therapy and speech therapy prior to discharge.
His ultra grogginess and nodding off (even nodding when someone is talking to him) is likely just the aftermath of the seizure. This should resolve and they do not feel there’s any permanent damage.
